We are in a world of constant motion. We are always alert and always available to others at a click of a button. Without realising we are working during every waking moment, especially those of us who work in the social media realm. There is a constant fear that we might lose out on the next job or next big thing if we aren’t there ready to respond to that email/text/phone call within seconds. I am completely guilty of this and rightly so, I have had many occasions where I have missed a phone call about a job and responded an hour later to find out that some other girl has taken it. All because of this style of life we are working ourselves into a state of exhaustion. I have recently been a little bit nicer to myself and allowed myself to have some days off and away from social media and have certainly slacked on the blogging front. It turns out I really needed it though and I am back full of ideas and ambitions.
HOW TO KNOW WHEN YOU ARE ‘TOO’ STRESSED
YOU CAN’T CONCENTRATE ON READING A BOOK OR EVEN A MAGAZINE.
YOU SPEND AN HOUR IN BED THINKING OF THINGS YOU NEED TO BE DOING.
YOU DON’T HAVE TIME TO STOP FOR A HALF AN HOUR LUNCH BREAK.
WAYS TO OVERCOME YOUR STRESS
TAKE A WHOLE DAY OFF DOING SOMETHING THAT COMPLETELY TAKES YOUR MIND OFF WORK.
SHUT DOWN AT 6PM ON THE DOT AND DON’T PICK UP YOUR PHONE/LAPTOP AGAIN UNTIL 9AM.
GO FOR A RUN WITH A PODCAST OR NEW ALBUM.
