WHAT TO WATCH THIS CHRISTMAS

WHAT TO WATCH THIS CHRISTMAS | Megan Taylor

Merry Christmas. I mean, it is pretty much the festive break and official time to happily slob out in front of the TV. I have compiled a long list of goodies for the family and for the grown ups. Make sure you don’t miss out, set your box to record. I know that all the Christmas eve goodies are going to have to be recorded because everyone talks through Christmas viewing and I want to see them properly 🙂 .

FAMILY FRIENDLY

Strictly Come Dancing finishes just before Christmas but not to worry, every year there is a Christmas special. I just personally wish they would stop bringing back past contestants and train up some newbies. Our new female Doctor Who will be airing on BBC1 this New Year’s Day, 2019! I feel like David Walliam’s always has a Christmas special out each year based on his books. This year is no different, he has a TV special coming out called The Midnight Gang and it is sure to be a family must-watch. Call The Midwife is always a little bit of a tear jerker but such an incredible watch, I love this show. Their shows normally air on Christmas Day. There will be a new production of Watership Down airing this Christmas and I can’t wait. The stars attached to this are immense and definitely going to bring in a huge crowd. There is an animated show of the kids story book called Zog which look positively adorable being aired on Christmas Day.

A BIT OF DRAMA AND ACTION

Les Miserables is coming to our TV this Christmas and for those who hate musicals you will be happy to hear it is in music free. I do think it is one of the best musicals ever produced but I am pleased they are bringing out this six-part adaptation for others to see the intense story. An Agatha Christie crimmie is coming to our TV with some megastars performing, including John Malcovich. This three-part show is called The ABC Murders.

NETFLIX CHRISTMAS MOVIES

Netflix is becoming the one stop shop for Christmas films and this year is like no other with their own Netflix produced festive movies. There are the classics like Arthur Christmas, Jingle All The Way and Love The Coopers but there are also some others by Netflix such as Christmas Calendar, The Christmas Chronicles and A Christmas Prince: A Royal Wedding.

Which ones are you putting on your list?
