MAKE UP FOR CHRISTMAS

As a girl i can safely say, I love receiving make up. I don’t find it offensive. It is my art. It is my daily creativity unleashed through drawing on my face. I know there are lots more men and women on the planet that agree with me. For all of those people in the world, this make up gift guide is for you. Treat yourself or pop these goodies on your Christmas Wish List, even send this post on to your friends, family, special someone as a hint 😉 . Enjoy this make up heavy blog post.

THE GIFT SET

Oh Christmas, the time for gift sets galore. Gift sets have never been chicer! Look no further than these insanely fabulous make up gift sets. Rodin Olio Lusso have this seriously classy gold spotted lipstick set which makes me smile from ear to ear. This would be perfect for the girl that has everything. They also have a lovely similarly packaged gift set with face oils inside.
I love Laura Geller make up. The quality is always great and everything I have ever used always has a great pigmentation to it. I am still using  these beautiful creamy eyeliners that I wrote about back in March which have proved a hit on my Pinterest account. I have always loved Kajal eyeliners for the same reason, they are so heavy in pigmentation and last a blummin’ long time. I tested these on my hand and they did not budge all day. I had to use my make up remover to take them off. This gift set has a great array of colours which are all usable. New York The Ultimate Kajal Longwear Eyeliner.
E.L.F. have amazing affordable make up products. This gift set is such a bargain and I am in love with the colours in the palette. The Rose Gold Look Set is currently on sale in Superdrug…what are you waiting for?

THE PALETTES

I am such a fan of make up palettes. Apart from struggling to spell the word palette for many years (anyone else?) I loved the fact you can travel with so many colours all under one lid. I have always loved Too Faced palettes. The chocolate and peach palettes are firm favourites but this Christmas I am going to be glued to the Sugar Cookie palette, it is perfectly compact as well so will make the perfect travel companion. I have always dreamed of owning a slice of Zoeva make up and I have finally got my hands on the Zoeva All Night Long Palette and it did not disappoint. Full of an insane amount of pigment with every brush stroke this palette is going to last you a very long time. The colours are party perfect so I think you should treat yourself to this gem rather than put it on your Christmas list.

THE TREATS

This ART DECO Crystal Beauty Dust is the most magical item of beauty goodness that I have every laid my hands upon. Even my husband cooed at its existence.  I wish I owned a beautiful traditional make up table that I could place this beauty dust on for permanent display. This dust can be beautifully spritzed over your hair, your face, your arms and legs. Walk around as your very own Tinkerbell. I have discussed my love for Kure polishes on many other occasions here. This year they have a perfectly formed Kure Bazaar Nail Polish Gift Set which is the perfect gift for the eco-concious set. Kure is a self proclaimed eco-trendy nail polish that is not tested on animals!

Which item is your favourite? Are you lucky enough to already own any of these beautiful make up items?

CRACKERS FOR CHRISTMAS

Crackers have been around since 1792. That’s a whole lot of time ago. In the past 10 or so years the invention of the cracker has definitely begun getting more inventive. As a family we have always had crackers on the dinner table because it feels like a part of Christmas that you should always include, for tradition. It is part of the table dressing, isn’t it!? Yet, with this years more apparent news on the devastation of plastic I think it is maybe something we should try and adjust. Why buy these plastic-y crackers for 2 seconds of happiness when they are just going to end up in a plastic heap in the ocean. Now, I am a HUGE fan of Christmas, the BIGGEST fan in fact and I hate thinking about the negativity of consumerism around the subject, but, if there is one tiny thing that we can do to help then I think swapping out crackers for more “special” crackers would maybe be something we could think of doing? I have compiled a nice selection of crackers which are each the price of one box of crackers but maybe you could forgo one present from under the tree and chip in together to have a table cracker present instead. It would definitely be something exciting to look forward to wouldn’t it. These crackers I have sourced range from £4-£22 and are filled with amazing gifts with something for almost everyone. Another fabulous way to gift crackers at Christmas is for those office and friends Secret Santa moments.

CRACKING BEAUTY

Beauty crackers are in abundance these days and I freaking love it!! Make up popping out of a cracker is fantastic and so exciting. This MOR cracker is their Mesmerising Marshmallow cracker and has a hand cream inside which smells like sweeties. At £8 this is the perfect gift for girls from 8-80! I am probably the biggest fan of Too Faced. I believe I have written about 12 posts on their make up haha. They have brought out this cracker with a lip gloss and their supremely famous ‘Better Than Sex’ mascara inside. At £14 it is the perfect gift for any make up lover.

POP OPEN THE RELAXATION

Christmas can be a supremely stressful period so make sure you take a moment aside to relax. What better way to relax than by taking an aromatherapy bath. Here are my top tips on having a dreamy bath. I included Beatitude’s crackers last year in my Under £10 Christmas Gift Guide and you all seemed to love it so I have brought them back again. The two I have here are Joy and Peace. They are £10 crackers that have a lovely aromatherapy bath oil inside.

ONE FOR THE BOYS

I found it really hard to find a male specific cracker. The majority of crackers on the market are aimed at girls. Bulldog have made a male cracker which is on sale for £4 at Superdrug at the moment!!  An absolute bargain. Being packaged in cracker for makes a moisturiser that much more special. I feel this cracker is the perfect easy gift for a guy you don’t know as well, maybe your best friends new boyfriend or some guy at the office that you picked for your Secret Santa.

SOMETHING SPECIAL

These two crackers are a little bit different from the others and would be more of a gifting surprise. This Nude By Nature cracker is filled with make up brushes! I adore Nude By Nature products anyway and to receive this cracker with a complete set of make up brushes would make me super happy. This Buckley cracker is a bargain at £12 with a charm bracelet inside. No one would expect that and it feels like pure indulgent happiness for any girly girl.

THE SHINIEST LIPS OF THEM ALL // TOO FACED – MELTED LATEX

It has been said that men are most drawn to a women’s lips over any other feature and with this lip gloss they won’t be able to resist. I grew up being obsessed with lip glosses, like literally OBSESSED!! This was until I met Liam and he told me he wasn’t the biggest fan of my sticky mouth haha. I now save my glossy pout for my kiss free outings with the girls. In June Too Faced launched a new lip line called ‘Melted Latex‘. Everyday I get a lot of press released sent through but the day the press release for Melted Latex popped up in my inbox my attention was alerted and I knew I had to try it out. The name is what drew my attention, I mean how random, how intriguing…It got me to thinking, what would melted latex look like? Look no further…

GLOSS OF ALL GLOSSES

These glosses are the glossiest glosses I have ever glossed over my lips…few, that was quite a mouthful. They are incredibly sticky but settle after a while. Too Faced have released 16 shades of the ‘Melted Latex’ and I have tried 3 of them, all with perfect Too Faced styled names. ‘Love U, Mean It‘, ‘Hopeless Romantic‘ and ‘Safe Word‘…all actually rather tame compared to their fantasticly popular ‘Better Than Sex‘ mascara. Check out all of the range here. My favourite colour is Hopeless Romantic, it is the perfect pinky nude.

STAYING POWER

The staying power of these lip glosses is insane. When I tried to rub it off my arm when I tried a swatch on my arm, there was simply no budging it. I believe these lip glosses will stick all day long, with the only need to top it up being after food.

DOE A DEAR

The tradition Too Faced doe shaped applicator is so lovely. The dip in the middle holds a lot of product which means you don’t need to keep dipping into your lippy but can actually apply it in one clean swoop, when I was applying it I felt as if I was in a TV commercial for them with the effortless swish and bold block colour. The brush is also lovely and soft.

The Best Of : Eye Make Up Removers

Back in May I wrote an article for the Daily Mail where I tested 10 different waterproof mascaras. I was really lucky that it was very successful and got shared hundreds and hundreds of times. Lots of lovely PR companies got in touch to say thank you and suggested I try their clients make up removers as well. So, I did and followed up the article trying out lots of make up removers designed specifically for removing waterproof make up. The article was released on Thursday and has been really successful again which makes me very happy ♥

I also happened to film a video to go alongside so you can see the make up removers being used. I tested all of the make up removers on Bobbi Brown’s waterproof mascara because I found it to be incredibly difficult to remove and was the best waterproof mascara that I tested back in May.

My Latest Make Up Obsessions

I am having a bit of a love affair with make up lately and have recently stocked up on plenty of new goodies so expect a lot more make up obsessions to be coming soon to my blog. The pieces I have selected to show you today are from Too Faced, KIKO and Make Up Forever. I hope you enjoy my latest make up obsessions.

My Current Make Up ObsessionsKIKO eyeshadow brush
I love KIKO. Everything they sell is affordable so you can try out new products without breaking the bank. This make up brush has been perfect for a bit of precision eye shadow blending.

Make Up Forever eyeshadow brush
This brush is a little chunkier than the KIKO brush which makes it great for an easy application of a large expanse of eye shadow.

My Current Make Up ObsessionsMake Up Forever Eyeshadow – Platinum
This eye shadow is absolutely beautiful, it is like a zillion stars clustered together into a little pot. With just a small brush of this on your eyelids when you are on holiday you will be all set to go for your evening ahead.

My Current Make Up ObsessionsToo Faced Smokey Eye Palette
I have been a lover of Too Faced for a while now. Their packaging is always very enticing. This Too Faced palette is wonderful. All of the colours are wearable with no eyeshadows that are too “out there”. I normally find that with an eye shadow palette there are colours that I never use but that is not the case with this one. ‘Firefly’ and ‘Cloves’ are my favourite colours to use for a day look and then build it up with the darker colours and the silver ‘In A Flash’.

What make up have you been loving lately?
