My Latest Make Up Obsessions

I am having a bit of a love affair with make up lately and have recently stocked up on plenty of new goodies so expect a lot more make up obsessions to be coming soon to my blog. The pieces I have selected to show you today are from Too Faced, KIKO and Make Up Forever. I hope you enjoy my latest make up obsessions.

My Current Make Up ObsessionsKIKO eyeshadow brush
I love KIKO. Everything they sell is affordable so you can try out new products without breaking the bank. This make up brush has been perfect for a bit of precision eye shadow blending.

Make Up Forever eyeshadow brush
This brush is a little chunkier than the KIKO brush which makes it great for an easy application of a large expanse of eye shadow.

My Current Make Up ObsessionsMake Up Forever Eyeshadow – Platinum
This eye shadow is absolutely beautiful, it is like a zillion stars clustered together into a little pot. With just a small brush of this on your eyelids when you are on holiday you will be all set to go for your evening ahead.

My Current Make Up ObsessionsToo Faced Smokey Eye Palette
I have been a lover of Too Faced for a while now. Their packaging is always very enticing. This Too Faced palette is wonderful. All of the colours are wearable with no eyeshadows that are too “out there”. I normally find that with an eye shadow palette there are colours that I never use but that is not the case with this one. ‘Firefly’ and ‘Cloves’ are my favourite colours to use for a day look and then build it up with the darker colours and the silver ‘In A Flash’.

What make up have you been loving lately?

What’s In My Handbag {evening edition}

What’s in my bag : evening edition

I have always loved reading bloggers posts about what is in their bag.
I have been using my Mulberry Lily bag constantly and have had no trouble cramming it full of everything I need for a night out.
Here is a little insight to what I keep in my bag on a night out.

Handbag:
Mulberry Lily {black glossy goat with soft gold}
I have always adored my Chanel 2.55 but it seems everyone in the world now owns one (fake or otherways) and I am sure the same will happen with this bag.
I feel it looks as classic as the Chanel 2.55 but a little more individual. It fits a lot more in as well. I have only had this bag for a month but have used it constantly.

Diary:
I seem to buy a Moleskine diary most years. I live out of my diary and it has taken me years and years to find the perfect one. My requirements are week view, slim to fit in any bag, stylish and enough space to write down all my casting details for each day. This diary fits all of my needs.

Purse:
I have wanted a new purse for a really long time and this Mulberry French Tree {black glossy goat} purse is simply heavenly. It fits so many cards in and has space for coins and notes. The only downside is that the card slots are a little tight so when pulling out your credit card the cashier may have to wait a moment. I am sure it will ease up after a while…I have only had the purse for a couple of weeks.

Pink mini notepad:
You will always find a Moleskine notebook in my bag. you never know when your next great idea may spring up.

Eyeliner:
Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in NOIR.
My husband bought me this eye pencil for Christmas and I use it every day. I have been a Rimmel eye liner addict since I first started using make up and have never branched out until now. This eyeliner last a lot longer. I don’t need to sharpen it as much, probably because it has a much more intense colour than the Rimmel Jet Black kohl so you need less.

Lipstick:
Clarins Joli Rouge 730 in PINK BLOSSOM.
My mum bought me this for Christmas (bit of a trend here…I only seem to try new products when people buy them for me 😛 )
I use this lipstick for castings when I need a natural look and for those evenings when you have a strong smokey eye and don’t want a full on lip with the strong eye look. It is a bit weird of me to say but it smells so scrummy…a bit like strawberry roses. Go on pop into Boots simply to give it a sniff.

Lipbalm:
Balm Balm Rose Geranium lip balm in a tube. Everyone knows I am a real Balm Balm addict. It is 100% organic and I have never had dry lips since using this product…whats not to love!
Balm Balm is one of those fabulous multi-purpose products. I always keep it in my bag and use it for my lips, hands and any flyaway hairs on nights out. Its dinky size is perfect for your evening bag.

Tweezers:
Pink mini tweezerman.
This is the travel tweezerman in bright pink. I also have the larger ones that I keep at home but these small ones are perfect to keep in your handbag incase you spot any strays whilst you are out.

Hairclips:
You can buy these standard hair clips from most shops but these ones from Superdrug have some sort of plastic safety bit on the underside. I adore these because they don’t get any hair tangled up in the clip and pull your hairs out. Also, they look super cute and schoolgirl retro.

Pencil:
I bought this pencil from Paperchase years and years ago. It is so small but perfect to keep in your smallest of handbags.

Pen:
I love these Stabilo pens…simple.

Hairband:
If you saw blog post on Popband a few weeks ago you may already know why I love these hairbands.
They don’t leave a kink in your hair which is great for nights out when you just need to pull your hair out of your face but don’t want to ruin your freshly blow dried hair.

Oyster Card:
I would obviously have my Oyster card in my handbag but I do not currently have a nice case for it…can anyone suggest a pretty one?

How to airbrush your legs

Make up artist tips #1

I recently had a leg and hand modelling job for Chambord and I was taught a great tip from the make up artist at the shoot.
This is how to airbrush your legs in real life.

Next time you have a night out or a wedding to go there is no need to go for that expensive fake tanning session.

What you will need

1. Moisturiser

2. Foundation

3. Powder (optional)

Pick a foundation that you would generally use on your face during the end of your summer holidays when you have caught a little sun.
I like to use this Maybelline Fit Me Foundation because it is light and spreads very easily. You can buy it here.

Chose a moisturiser that melts into your hands and spreads easily without drying out too quickly. I would suggest not using a product with alcohol in the ingredients. This is to prevent it evaporating and in turn not helping spread the foudation.
I use Balm Balm Multi Purpose Frangrance Free Balm because it is 100% organic so no there are no nasties to dry you out. You can buy it here.

Step one

With a bit of moisturiser in your hands, add as much foundation as needed and mix together. Spread evenly over your legs.

Et voila…your legs look seamlessly dolly.

Step two

If you are worried about any foundation transferring onto your clothes you can dab some face powder onto your legs to set the foundation.

Hope this works well for you. Let me know if you try it out.

Hair Help

I think I have stumbled on a hair saviour.
I am sure you have all been there…freshly styled hair but you have to tie your hair up for the gym or simply for those day to day chores where having your hair in your face will just stress you out! On many occasions I have tied my hair up and been left with an unwanted kink in my preened hair. I used to sport the scrunchy look back when I was nine but I don’t feel trendy enough to do that look in the current “ironic” way.
I did found some chunky plain black fabric hair bands from H&M for about £3 which are fab but look like a bit of an old rag on your wrist. This week Popband caught my eye with their pretty elastics and ever since then my wrist has been adorned with a different coloured band each day.
At £8 they are a bit pricier than a standard hair band but the way I think about it is you are also paying for a bit of jewellery. I wear mine to bootcamp classes for the pretty effect but also the fact that there is no kink in my hair afterwards if I don’t have time to wash my hair.
I bought mine from a Joy store but you can buy them online at their PopBand.
